WELLCORE

WELLCORE Strategic Partnership on the topic of WELL- being, mental health, COnnection and REsilience

This project has been funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union (Project N. 2024-3-DE04-KA210-YOU-8A369E83)
Coordinator : Highlights e.V, Germany

“WELLCORE” aims to strengthen youth wellbeing across Europe by equipping youth workers and organisations with practical tools, training, and strategies to foster mental health and resilience among young people. In response to growing wellbeing challenges, the project brings together youth workers, trainers, and stakeholders to co-develop and implement a comprehensive training programme. Through activities such as the development of a WELLCORE training manual, international Training of Trainers (ToT), national workshops engaging at least 15 young people per country, research initiatives, and a European Youth Wellbeing Festival in Italy, the project promotes collaboration and knowledge exchange. Using participatory and experiential learning methodologies, WELLCORE will produce a scalable training programme, a Youth Work Ecosystem Strategy, and awareness campaigns. The project is expected to enhance the capacity of youth workers, improve young people’s wellbeing, and create sustainable, long-term impact by embedding wellbeing practices within youth work systems across Europe.

🌱 Our Objective

With WELLCORE, we want to bring well-being to the heart of youth work.

We believe that youth workers need not only tools, but also space to reflect, connect, and grow. Through this project, we aim to:

  • Create a shared understanding of well-being in youth work, while exchanging real practices and experiences across countries.
  • Equip youth workers and organisations with practical, creative tools to support well-being in their daily work.
  • Train and support youth workers through an international learning journey, empowering them to become multipliers in their local communities.
  • Engage young people at the local level, creating safe spaces where at least 15 young people per country can explore well-being together.

Strengthen collaboration between organisations and stakeholders to build a more connected and caring youth work ecosystem

⚙️ Activities

WELLCORE is built as a journey — combining learning, experimentation, and community-building across Europe:

  • We co-create a WELLCORE Training Manual, gathering methods, tools, and experiences
  • We bring together youth workers for an international Training of Trainers, focused on well-being, connection, and resilience
  • We support partners in delivering local trainings, adapting the approach to their communities
  • We listen and learn through focus groups, research, and conversations with stakeholders
  • We develop a shared strategy to strengthen well-being in youth work beyond the project
  • We celebrate and connect through a European Youth Well-being Festival in Italy

We organise local events in each country to share results and involve wider communities

🌍 Key Results

WELLCORE is not just a project — it’s a step towards a more human and sustainable way of doing youth work.

Through this journey, we aim to:

  • Bring the WELLCORE approach into practice across Europe — from training youth workers to working directly with young people
  • Build a long-term vision and strategy for well-being in youth work
  • Create accessible and inspiring resources and materials that organisations can continue using
  • Raise awareness around youth well-being through creative campaigns and community initiatives

Create meaningful moments of connection, such as our European Youth Well-being Festival
